Quick-hit guide to stakes of four-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals, which will finalize 20 PGA Tour cards
It’s time for the four-event series where players achieve their lifelong dream of making the PGA Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.
The 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Finals bring the season-long race for 20 PGA Tour cards to a dramatic close, as the top 20 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List after the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by Virginia’s Richmond Region will earn 2027 PGA Tour cards. The top 60 players on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List following the Compliance Solutions Championship, the third of four Finals events, will qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by Virginia’s Richmond Region and earn full status for the 2027 Korn Ferry Tour Season.
Points do not reset into the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, a change introduced in 2023. The race for PGA Tour cards is purely cumulative across the Korn Ferry Tour Points List from January through October. Eligibility for each event is determined by the Points List into each event, with field reduction after each event (156, 132, 100, 60 players qualify).
For players who have clinched TourBound status heading into the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, the stakes remain high, as the No. 1 player in the season-long standings after the Korn Ferry Tour Championship will earn exempt 2027 PGA Tour membership and spots in the 2027 U.S. Open and THE PLAYERS Championship.
In another change from the pre-2023 Korn Ferry Tour Finals format, tournament field sizes are reduced as the series proceeds, a cadence that aligns with the FedExCup Playoffs. The top 156 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List qualify for the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation (Finals No. 1), with the top 132 after the Simmons Bank Open qualifying for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship (Finals No. 2). The top 100 after the Nationwide will qualify for the Compliance Solutions Championship (Finals No. 3) and the top 60 after the Compliance Solutions will qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by Virginia’s Richmond Region (Finals No. 4).
