Utah Championship names Intermountain Health as co-presenting sponsor
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Intermountain Health joins Zions Bank as a co-presenting sponsor of Utah Championship. The Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and Intermountain Health will be played August 1-4, 2024.
“Intermountain Health is honored to join Zions Bank as a presenting sponsor of the Utah Championship golf tournament,” said Intermountain Health President & CEO Rob Allen. “Our mission, helping people live the healthiest lives possible, is rooted in community. We’re pleased to strengthen this event for the state of Utah.”
Now entering its 33rd year, Utah Championship has become a premier golf tournament in Utah. It has produced an impressive list of champions, including the inaugural winner John Daly, Masters champion and Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson, Charles Schwab Cup titleholder Steven Alker, and many others.
“We’ve been proud to align our Zions Bank brand with an event like the Utah Championship that is so iconic to our state,” said Zions Bank President & CEO Scott Anderson. “Intermountain Health is another incredible Utah partner that will help strengthen the event.”
“The overwhelming support from our local and national sponsors keeps Utah Championship a mainstay in the state and its golfing community,” said Utah Sports Commission President & CEO Jeff Robbins. “Having partners like Zions Bank and now Intermountain Health as presenting sponsors increases the tournament’s ability to give back to our charitable organizations and host world class golf in Utah.”
In 2018, Utah Championship partnered with the Tony Finau Foundation to support Utah’s aspiring professional golfers. The mission of the organization is to provide resources and develop young, talented players to chase their dreams of becoming a PGA TOUR player. The tournament has donated approximately $500,000 to the Foundation’s mentoring program in partnership with Tony Finau and the Utah Sports Commission.
“I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities that the Korn Ferry Tour and Utah Championship provided to me early on,” said Tony Finau. “My partnership with the Utah Championship now allows our Foundation to pay it forward by giving the most promising golfers from Utah the opportunity to play at a higher level.”
Patrick Fishburn, the first ever recipient of the Tony Finau Foundation mentoring program, recently earned his PGA TOUR card after three consecutive seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour. Fishburn was a runner-up of the 2022 Utah Championship. Peter Kuest, former BYU golfer, also received support from the program. Kuest is currently playing on the PGA TOUR, earning his first career top-10 after finishing T4 at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
