Welcome to the 2009 Utah Championship, held at beautiful Willow Creek Country Club. Entering the fifth year in its partnership with the PGA TOUR as host organization for this annual Nationwide Tour stop, the Utah Sports Commission is proud of the growth the Utah Championship has experienced over the past few years. We would like to say thank you to the hundreds of volunteers and the corporate partnerships we have worked hard to create, who make this tournament possible. Without the financial support and tireless work of these individuals this event would not succeed to the magnitude that it does. In addition, we would like to thank all the golf fans and spectators who make this tournament more of an event as it continues to grow. Your support allows the Utah Championship to continue leaving its mark on the Nationwide Tour as well as providing the citizens of Utah the opportunity to enjoy watching the future stars of the PGA TOUR. Last, the Utah Championship provides more than just professional golf. It also endeavors to raise money for the tournament’s charitable partners and contribute to the PGA TOUR’s unprecedented success in giving back to local charities. We are excited to once again bring you the Nationwide Tour’s Utah Championship and invite you to experience the only official PGA TOUR event in the state of Utah this September. Tournament Director
Dear Golf Fans: I want to take a moment and welcome you to the Utah Championship. Over the years we have seen some of golf’s best players compete in our own backyard at Willow Creek Country Club, and then go on to the PGA TOUR and achieve tremendous success. Zach Johnson, who won the Utah Championship in 2003 went on to win the Masters in 2007 and in addition to starring on the Ryder Cup, has already won twice in 2009. In addition, Brett Wetterich won our event in 2004 and also won the 2006 EDS Bryon Nelson Championship. Last year’s winner Brendon Todd played terrific golf to win our 2008 tournament and has already had top finishes during the 2009 PGA TOUR season. We look forward to another exciting tournament in 2009 and hope you will join us. On behalf of everybody associated with the Utah Championship, we welcome you to this year’s PGA TOUR event.
